Spacial sublimity is a commissioned, digital illustration. The concept behind this was to create an illustration that combined the client’s adoration for anime, space, and psychedelic color palettes. The anime and color palette inspirations are clear, but the “face splitting” concept was derived from theories around the Event Horizon; a phenomena where the concept of physics, anatomy, and time itself cease to exist in the presence of a black hole in space. In this case, this “Event" Horizon” is causing the character face to split, revealing a series of unexpected, and exciting colors.
